Household waste disposal habits in India reveal need for improved infrastructure.
The study looked at how people in Kumbakonam, India, handle their household waste. They surveyed 300 adults to see how they dispose of their trash and what they think about it. Most people use small bins for their waste and are generally satisfied with the work of the municipal sweepers. The researchers used a statistical analysis to understand the relationship between different factors like age, gender, and waste disposal habits. They found that people in the town dispose of around three to six kilograms of waste per week, with most of it being biodegradable.
