New solar pond technology stores solar energy for year-round use!
Solar ponds are a cost-effective way to store solar heat energy. A study was done on a small circular solar pond in Iran to analyze energy and exergy efficiencies. The shading walls in the pond affect how solar energy is stored. The study found that the most thermal energy is stored in the lower convective zone of the pond, with the highest efficiencies in June being 9.37% for energy and 0.76% for exergy. This stored energy can be used for various applications.
