A new platform called "parametric design platform" was created to design automotive ball joints faster and cheaper. This platform uses 3D modeling to change the design of ball joints in a programmable way. Unlike other systems, this platform can change not only dimensions but also materials, features, and geometry. The results showed that this new system is practical and effective for designing ball joints.
