The article discusses how IT outsourcing is managed in the Slovenian public sector. It looks at the factors that lead to success, the benefits, and risks of outsourcing IT services. The researchers studied the current situation in Slovenian municipalities to understand why IT outsourcing is happening. They also examined the material and procedural aspects of IT outsourcing. The findings show that IT outsourcing can have both positive and negative effects on public sector organizations. The article provides guidelines for effectively using and implementing IT outsourcing in the public sector.
