Revolutionary water management system saves millions in infrastructure costs for housing development.
The Narara Ecovillage Cooperative developed a water management plan for a 120-lot subdivision to avoid high costs of traditional water and sewer systems. They built a dam, used rainwater tanks, treated sewage on-site, and recycled water for irrigation. By using various techniques like rainwater tanks and bioretention basins, they reduced stormwater runoff and erosion risks. The project faced challenges in meeting different regulations.
