No-tillage Farming Boosts Soybean and Wheat Yields After Two Decades
The study looked at how different ways of farming soybeans and wheat affect their growth and yield in a specific type of soil over 24 years. They compared traditional plowing, minimal tillage, and no-tillage methods, as well as different crop rotation patterns. They found that after 24 years, soybean yield was higher with no-tillage compared to traditional plowing. However, using a chiselling tool in the soil did not improve crop productivity. Overall, the way the soil is managed can impact crop yield, but crop rotation did not have a significant effect on soybean and wheat production.
