Women earn 46.6% less than men over their careers: study.
The study looked at how much money men and women make over their lifetimes. Women earn 46.6% less than men by the end of their careers. This gap is more than twice as big as the current pay gap in Germany. The difference in earnings is highest when people are starting families. Women have less experience and work fewer hours, which explains most of the earnings gap. Younger women are catching up to men in terms of education and job opportunities.
