Diverse forests provide essential services for human well-being
Forests are important for both animals and humans, providing many services like food, shelter, and protection. Research shows that having a variety of plants and animals in forests helps them work better and provide more services. Different types of forests offer different benefits, like preventing fires, storing carbon, and supporting wildlife. However, there is still a lot we don't know about how biodiversity affects these services. Planting forests with a mix of species could be a good way to get more benefits for people and nature. This study looks at how forests and their biodiversity help us and what we can do to make them even more useful.
