Gender pay gap varies by sector in EU countries, ownership key
The study looked at the gender pay gap in different sectors of the economy in 24 European Union countries. They found that the unexplained gender pay gap varies across sectors and countries. Factors like ownership and the proportion of women in a sector play a big role in these differences. However, the proportion of female managers and small companies did not have a significant impact on the gender pay gap. This is the first study to compare the gender pay gap in different sectors across all 24 EU countries and identify the reasons behind these differences.
