The researchers used spotlighting data and occupancy modeling to estimate the number of Cape hares in southern Tunisia. They found that Cape hares are most abundant in Sidi Toui, followed by Bouhedma, and least abundant in Jbil. The presence of Cape hares is linked to the availability of certain plant species in their habitat.
