Rice straw biochar combined with nitrogen fertilizer can boost rice growth and yield. In the study, using 9 tons of biochar with 90-120 kg of nitrogen per hectare led to the best results. This combination increased plant growth, leaf area, chlorophyll content, and tiller number, resulting in a 20% improvement in grain yield compared to using nitrogen fertilizer alone. By adding biochar to the soil, farmers can reduce the need for chemical fertilizers by up to 40% while still increasing their profits and promoting sustainable rice production.
