Higher chickpea planting density boosts grain yield in dry land farming.
A study in Iran looked at how different planting densities affect the growth and yield of four chickpea cultivars. They found that the ILC482 cultivar had the highest grain yield, especially at a density of 83 plants per square meter. This cultivar also had the highest leaf area and growth rate during the season. Overall, higher planting densities led to higher grain yields for chickpeas grown in dry land conditions.
