Regional planning in the Sacramento area has historically been weak, but a new initiative called the California Regional Blueprint Program is trying to change that. By involving local officials and stakeholders in a visioning process, the program aims to improve sustainable development in the region. Interviews with staff and stakeholders show that the Blueprint planning process has helped build trust and make progress towards a more sustainable future.
