Ancient European buildings had green features like climate-responsive designs and solar architecture. Some of these practices have influenced modern green building materials. This study compares ancient European building practices with current green building guidelines. The researchers analyzed old European building methods and materials before 1800AD and compared them to modern LEED green building standards. They found similarities between ancient and modern green building features, showing that ancient practices can still be relevant today.
