University campus saves thousands by using innovative stormwater management techniques
Stormwater management was studied at a university campus to reduce runoff. The Stormwater Management Model was used to predict how to decrease flooding. Results showed that 23% of runoff was absorbed, 19,000 m3 of water could be stored for irrigation, and $73,600 could be saved yearly. SWMM is effective for managing stormwater in small urban areas.
