Soil depth in Xinjiang, China, was studied to understand where shallow soils are located and what factors influence them. Shallow soils were found mainly in high altitude areas like the Tian Mountains. Climate and vegetation coverage were linked to soil depth, but terrain features did not play a significant role. This research helps improve our understanding of how soil depth is affected by climate and vegetation in large regions.
