The study looked at how Texas Hold’em Poker players make decisions about money. Eight players were asked to choose between getting a small amount of money right away or a larger amount later. All players tended to prefer getting money sooner rather than waiting for a bigger reward. The more money players usually bet in poker games, the more they preferred immediate rewards. This shows that poker players tend to value money that they can get now more than money they could have won in the past.
