By analyzing data from Dutch coasts, researchers found that dune growth rates differ between locations, with more dune accretion in Rijnland than Ameland. The study also used a modeling approach to show that sediment availability plays a crucial role in aeolian sediment transport, with dune vegetation being essential for dune growth.
