A co-management system was introduced in Lake Victoria to help improve fish catches and ecosystem health. By involving fishers in the management of the lake's fisheries, laws and regulations are better enforced, leading to a decrease in illegal fishing practices. This approach has created a platform for sharing knowledge and understanding the importance of following rules for effective fisheries management.
