New study reveals high groundwater potential in Makurdi, Nigeria! đ§
A study in Makurdi, Nigeria used a method called vertical electrical sounding to estimate groundwater potential. They found that the area has 4-5 underground layers, with aquifers ranging from 6 to 69 meters thick and resistivity from 7 to 378 Ωm. By calculating hydraulic conductivity and transmissivity from these values, they determined that the area has high and intermediate groundwater productivity potential. The study shows that a combination of aquifer thickness, resistivity, conductivity, and transmissivity can help evaluate groundwater potential.
