Revolutionary Pond Design Turns Brewery Waste into Clean Water Solution.
A pilot waste stabilization pond was built to treat brewery wastewater. Different layers of the pond helped aerobic, facultative, and anaerobic bacteria break down the waste. The pond removed 69% of BOD, 68.9% of COD, 81% of TSS, 67.2% of turbidity, and 71.6% of electrical conductivity from the wastewater. The pond worked well and the results can be used to design larger ponds for industrial use.
