Temporary grazing exclusion revives species richness in overgrazed grasslands rapidly
Grazing exclusion in overgrazed Campos grasslands can help restore species richness and productivity. Moderate grazing allows for a variety of plant species to thrive, while severe grazing leads to less diversity and biomass. By temporarily excluding grazing in spring, the grasslands can quickly recover in terms of species richness, productivity, and composition. This study shows that proper grazing management is crucial for maintaining healthy grasslands and promoting biodiversity.
