Farmland management key to reducing nitrogen and phosphorus pollution in reservoirs.
The study focused on estimating nitrogen and phosphorus pollution in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area. By analyzing different types of land use, researchers found that dry land pollution is the main source of farmland pollution. Livestock breeding contributes the most nitrogen pollution, while land use pollution is the main source of phosphorus pollution. Effective management of farmland and controlling livestock waste are crucial for preventing nitrogen and phosphorus pollution in the area.
