Revolutionizing Corn Production: Conservation Tillage Boosts Yields and Cuts Costs
Conservation tillage systems were tested in corn production to see if they could increase yields, save money, and protect soil and water. Trials in the Philippines showed that zero and minimum tillage led to higher grain yields compared to traditional tillage. In Mindoro and Leyte, conservation tillage resulted in the highest yields. In Camarines Sur, zero tillage had the best results. Overall, using conservation tillage can boost corn yields, save money, and help conserve soil moisture during dry periods.
