The study looked at how lack of water and different rootstocks affect photosynthesis in pistachio trees. They used two types of seedlings and three levels of soil water potential. The results showed that water stress made the leaves less efficient at using light for photosynthesis. It also reduced the amount of pigments in the leaves. Both rootstocks reacted similarly to the lack of water in terms of pigment levels and photosynthesis.
