Nitrogen fertilizer boosts maize yield and productivity, revolutionizing farming practices.
The study looked at how different amounts of nitrogen fertilizer affect the growth and yield of a type of maize called Lamuru. They tested three levels of nitrogen: none, 75 kg/ha, and 150 kg/ha. The results showed that using 75 kg/ha of nitrogen had the best overall impact on the length of the corn cob, moisture content, yield, and productivity of the maize crop. However, using 150 kg/ha of nitrogen resulted in the tallest maize plants and the highest position of the corn cobs.
