Intercropping maize and legumes boosts yields in DR Congo's savanna.
The researchers conducted an experiment to see how growing different maize varieties with cowpea and soybean affects crop yields in the DR Congo. They found that some maize varieties did better when grown with soybean, especially Mudishi 3. The study also showed that maize was more dominant in these intercrops, and overall, intercropping had higher yields compared to growing crops alone.
