Job Knowledge Boosts Charismatic Leadership, Unlocks Potential in Multinational Teams
The study looked at how different leadership styles affect employees in a multinational company in Singapore and China. They found that charismatic leadership is effective for employees with both high and low job-related knowledge in both countries. Transactional leadership, on the other hand, is generally not effective, except for employees in Singapore with low job-related knowledge. This shows that the effectiveness of leadership styles can depend on the level of knowledge employees have about their jobs.
