The study looked at how absentee landowners manage their land in Texas. They found that the key factor influencing land management decisions was how involved the landowners were with their property, not how far away they lived. Simply knowing where the landowner lives doesn't tell us much about how they take care of their land. It's important to understand the relationship between the landowner and their land to predict how the land will be managed.
