New weed control method boosts garlic yield and profits significantly.
Researchers conducted a field experiment to find ways to control weeds in garlic. They discovered that using pendimethalin and oxyfluorfen herbicides, along with paddy straw mulch, effectively reduced the density and dry biomass of different types of weeds. This approach also led to higher garlic bulb yield, increased profits, and a better benefit-cost ratio compared to other weed control methods.
