Limited water resources in northern China have led to excessive groundwater use, causing ecological and geological issues. To address this, the south-to-north water diversion project aims to reduce groundwater exploitation. The project, focusing on Beijing, implements strategies to decrease reliance on groundwater and mitigate related problems.
