The article explores whether children can correctly understand how things are connected and make predictions about what will happen if they change something in a system. Three experiments were done with kids aged 4 to 8. The results show that children struggle to connect their understanding of how things are connected to predicting what will happen if they change something. This suggests that knowing how things are connected doesn't always mean you can predict what will happen if you change something.
