New method reveals hidden oil reserves in Kazakhstan's Caspian Depression!
A study in Kazakhstan used magnetotelluric surveys to create a digital model of the Karaton–Sarkamys block. By analyzing the data, researchers were able to map out the geoelectric layers and understand the lithologic and reservoir properties of petroleum plays in the area. This method, combined with seismic and GIS data, proved to be effective in providing valuable insights into the geology of the region.
