The study looked at Tunisian manufacturing firms from 1998 to 2006 to understand what factors contribute to their productivity growth. They found that firms could increase production by 41% on average by improving technical efficiency. The total factor productivity of the manufacturing sector increased by 7.55% during this period, mainly due to improvements in technical efficiency rather than technological advancements.
