New Sweet Cherry Cultivar Boosts Yields and Quality in Himalayas!
The study evaluated different types of sweet cherry cultivars to see how they differ in terms of size, taste, and yield. The researchers found that the Sweet Heart cultivar had the biggest fruits and highest yield, while Lapins had the longest fruits. Traditional cultivar Misri was the firmest, while Makhmali was the least firm. Stella matured the earliest, while Misri ripened the latest. Misri had the highest sugar content, while Stella had the lowest. The size and weight of the fruits were closely related to how long it took for them to mature, and the amount of stone in the fruit was negatively related to its size. Overall, the study showed that different cherry cultivars have distinct characteristics that affect their quality and productivity.
