Supply chain models lacking coordination and detail in IT integration.
Supply chain processes are moving towards using IT-based processes called service-oriented architecture (SOA) to improve flexibility and integration. Different reference models have been created to help with modeling and implementing supply chain information systems. This study compared six main supply chain reference models and found that none fully support detailed coordination and interaction of process models with a service-oriented approach. There is a need for a better methodology for business process modeling in supply chain management.
