Greening urban spaces in Abidjan: More diversity needed for sustainable infrastructure.
Highways in Abidjan have road interchanges with planted trees. A study looked at 10 of these interchanges 32 years later. They counted trees, measured their sizes, and calculated diversity. They found 42 plant species, with Acacia mangium being the most common. The reforestation was not very diverse, so it's suggested to use more local plant species for greening urban areas in Cote d'Ivoire.
