Rainwater Purifier Transforms Lives in Drought-Stricken Brazil
A PVC-pipe device was created to improve rainwater quality for drinking in Brazil's dry region. The device diverts and stores the first millimeter of rain, removing 98% of total coliforms and 100% of Escherichia coli. Testing in real rainfall events showed it effectively preserves water quality, meeting drinking standards for turbidity and color. The device acts as a barrier to protect rainwater quality, ensuring safe drinking water for rural communities.
