South Africa's Land Governance Reforms Aim to Empower Marginalized Communities
The Land Governance Assessment Framework (LGAF) is a tool used to evaluate how well a country manages its land. In South Africa, the LGAF process started in 2011 and focused on large-scale land acquisition. The assessment looked at 21 indicators divided into different dimensions to see how South Africa is doing in terms of land governance. The results show areas where South Africa is doing well and areas that need improvement in managing land. The assessment also provides recommendations for better land governance in the country.
