The researchers developed a wetland system in India to clean up household sewage. They tested different plants and found Typha angustata to be the best for removing nutrients. The system removed a good amount of pollutants like COD, BOD, and nitrogen. When they increased the water flow, the system still worked well. Overall, the system became more efficient and took up less space in the end.
