Poultry manure reigns supreme in nutrient content and water retention.
The experiment looked at different types of organic manures like farm yard manure, vermicompost, poultry manure, and sheep manure. Poultry manure and vermicompost had the same amount of organic carbon, but poultry manure had a lower C:N ratio. Poultry manure held the most water, followed by sheep manure. Farm yard manure had the highest loss on ignition. Poultry manure had the highest levels of both macro and micronutrients, followed by sheep manure, vermicompost, and farm yard manure.
