Supplementing chilled Asian elephant sperm with stallion seminal plasma can improve impaired motility caused by dilution. The study tested different dilutions of sperm stored in a cooling solution and found that a 1:1 dilution maintained better motility than higher dilutions. When diluted sperm was restored with stallion seminal plasma, motility was significantly improved compared to using elephant seminal plasma. This suggests that adding stallion seminal plasma to highly diluted elephant sperm can help improve sperm motility, potentially aiding in artificial breeding efforts for Asian elephants.
