Road Infrastructure Boosts Regional Economic Growth in Turkey, Air Lags Behind
The study looked at how public transportation infrastructure investments in Turkey between 2004 and 2011 affected regional economic growth. They used different statistical methods to analyze the impact of road, motorway, land, and air infrastructure on regional output. The results showed that road and motorway infrastructure had a positive effect on regional economic growth. Land infrastructure was also found to be crucial for economic performance in Turkey. Surprisingly, air infrastructure did not have a significant impact on regional economic growth. The study suggests that Turkey needs to improve its transport infrastructure to support economic growth.
