In the Yellow River basin, China, they are facing a water shortage problem due to increased demand and reduced supply caused by climate change. To tackle this, water-saving irrigation technologies are being introduced in the Hetao Irrigation District in Inner Mongolia. These technologies involve upgrading water conveyance systems and implementing modern irrigation methods in the fields. By reducing the amount of water used for irrigation and improving productivity, they aim to adapt to the changing global conditions. The key focus is on Dengkou area in the upper Yellow River basin where these practices are being put into action.
