Mulching with rice straw can help wheat plants grow better and produce higher yields, especially the BARI Gom-28 variety. This was shown in a field experiment in Bangladesh where different wheat varieties and mulching treatments were tested. BARI Gom-28 with rice straw mulch gave the tallest plants, most tillers, longest spikes, heaviest grains, and highest yields compared to other combinations. This suggests that using BARI Gom-28 with rice straw mulch could be a successful way to grow wheat in similar conditions.
