The article discusses the need for decentralization of public and local authorities in Ukraine. The researchers analyzed the current system of local government and found that reforms are necessary to strengthen the political status of local governments. They propose continuing reforms based on decentralization and subsidiary principles to improve the functioning of the state. The study highlights the importance of political decentralization in a modern democratic society and emphasizes the autonomy of local government in decision-making. The researchers suggest maintaining a three-tiered structure for local government while enhancing decentralization of power at the local level.
