China's agricultural productivity grows, but input redundancies threaten environment.
The article analyzes agricultural productivity in different regions of China from 1995 to 2014. The researchers found that overall productivity increased by 4.3% annually, mainly due to technical progress. However, efficiency declines slowed down this growth. The Western and Central regions had higher productivity growth than the Eastern region. In 2014, the Western region had the most effective agricultural units. Input redundancies, like pesticide use and machinery power, increased after 2006. This study helps understand China's agricultural productivity and regional differences.
