Leachate treatment plant in Indonesia fails to meet environmental standards.
The researchers studied how well a leachate treatment plant at Cipayung Landfill in Indonesia was working. They looked at samples of leachate before and after treatment during the rainy season in 2017. The results showed that the treatment plant did not meet the standards set by Indonesia's Ministry of Environment and Forestry. The levels of pollutants like BOD and COD were too high in the treated leachate. This means the plant needs to be improved to prevent contamination of the environment when the treated leachate is released into water bodies.
