The study looked at how European funding affected waste collection in Italy. They found that the funding didn't really help regions improve their waste collection rates. However, they did find that people in provinces with good waste collection influenced others to be more environmentally friendly. This suggests that promoting eco-friendly attitudes might be important for successful waste collection projects in struggling regions.
