Cover crops and crop rotation boost maize and soybean yields significantly!
The study looked at how using cover crops and rotating crops affects soil and crop yield. They tested different methods on dry beans, maize, and soybeans for two seasons. They found that using cover crops and crop rotation can increase maize and soybean yields. However, rotating crops in no-till can make the soil more compact near the surface compared to traditional tillage. But this doesn't lower the yields of dry beans, maize, and soybeans.
